Just about a year ago, on October 1st 2019, the sailmaking branch of Axe Sail became « Incidence Manche ». The sailmaker based in Cherbourg added to the other sail lofts in Brest, Lorient, La Rochelle and Toulon, however keeping its own team and management while benefiting from the support of the Incidence’s Design office.
Axel Gadbin, manager at Incidence Manche : « The transition went well. Our clients were happy as long as the production remained local and the team unchanged. We had good feedbacks on the quality of our profiles, our capacity to comply with the spécifications from profesionnals sailors but also from boaters.
It helped us to work on bigger units, 45 to 50 feet, Incidence’s expertise clearly increased customer’s confidence ».
Matthias de Christen, CEO at Incidence : « The team at Incidence Manche is really dynamic ans shares the values and team spirit of Incidence Sails. They extend Incidence’s offer north of France with great talent and allow boaters and competitors to use the DFi® et D4 membranes providing them with the necessary local service. A new story has just begun !
The J99 Incidence Manche
The dynamic team from Normandy took the opportunity to fully equip their J99 with Incidence sails : a mainsail in DFi® and a Jib in D4 : a boat that presents Incidence sails’ and Axe’s sail know-hows.
Camille Adamy, communication manager at Axe Sail and sailor : « Our ambition is to take part in local competitions (« Tour des Ports de la Manche » race and the Cherbourg Weymouth race) but also to larger european competitions through the offshore sailing circuit and in major events of the RORC such as the Rolex Fastnet Race.
The J99 already leads the Tuesday night championship held by the yacht club in Cherbourg. Competition is on for next year’s season ! »
This sailing program is supported by several partners : Issartel, Sarbacane solution E Mailing, the communication agency Opale, Incidence Sails.
