During the Solitaire du Figaro 2021, out of all sailors on the podium, 4 of the top 5 and 9 of the top 10 had the chosen to sail with at least one Incidence sail. Overall, 1/3 of the sails that were used on this race were made by Incidence.
Xavier Macaire (Groupe SNEF): « The J2 from Incidence holds great value on the circuit. It is a highly versatile sail, easy to use and very visual. It is easy to find your marks with it. The sail is performant in every weather condition. It is a very good one!
I am also very satisfied with the main sail: it is performant and at the end of the Solitaire it was as if it had never been used ! Like it was new! »
Fabien Delahaye (Groupe Gilbert): « I am very happy with all of my sails! If I had to race again on the Solitaire, I would do the same. The sails are in great condition even after the race. I did not have a single problem during the race.
The mainsail is still in perfect shape like it’s brand new honestly, I could use it for a new Solitaire!
I was one of the fastest when racing downwinds with the new spinnaker we have developed this season. I was really comfortable. Everyone noticed how fast I was. It is a great spinnaker we have here ».
An enriching work
Beyond the performance and quality of the profils, there is also a real collaboration that is being built between the sailors and the sailmaker for the long term.
Xavier Macaire (Groupe SNEF) : « The work with the sailmaker and especially Maxime Paul, is very rewarding. He came sailing with me several times to test the sails. He is extremely detailed.
Just before the Sardhina Cup, he held a great debrief on everything we had experienced at sea: mast and sail settings etc.
He drives improvement not only for the sails but also on the way to approach the adjustment of the rigging, the boat, and the way we sail… It is extremely rewarding to work with him ».
Fabien Delahaye (Groupe Gilbert) : « For 3 years now, since the start of the figaro 3, that we have been working together with Ronan Floch, Maxime Paul, Julien Gresset, Pierre-Antoine Morvan.
I really enjoy the relationship, the work we do together and the improvements we make. There are always so many little things to improve, its the focus, the immediate debriefs, looking at both operating as well as purely technical aspects.
They have chosen at least one Incidence Sail:
-Of the sailors on the podium
– 4 skippers of the top 5
